Journal: Journey to Hell

BASED ON REAL HUMAN EMPLOYEE'S EXPERIENCES
1
Grinding for Achievements
  • Some of the grind in this game is kind of unreal. If someone was playing back in the day without the Auto Battle, it probably would have taken forever to get these levels.
  • Guy leveled up his swords to 16 mostly organically where Maria was such a struggle getting her magic up even though I was using it all game.
I liked the leveling systems with magic and weapons but I did not like the how the grind was to get these higher level. It seems like it needed to scale a bit more.
No where in the interface does it mention penalties to magic for wearing armor. After researching and testing that seems to be the case. Still have no idea how to optimize Ultima Tome.
Weapon Tactics Leveled up one weapon type to skill level 16.
Magic Tactics Leveled up one magic spell to skill level 16.

Jade Passage
  • Down into the Jade Passage, on our way to Hell.
  • Lots of monsters in a box down here.
  • Overall the dungeon isn't much of a problem, probably because I grinded to a high level.
Blue Dragon Like other dragons, but blue. Blasted with Flare
King Behemoth A much more kingly behemoth. Blasted with Flare
Red Dragon Like other dragons, but red. Blasted with Flare

Entering Pandaemonium
  • Well, this dungeon is much harder, even with the high levels.
  • Tons of classic Notorious Monsters here, most of them monster in a box.
  • Had to wonder around a bunch to get the Iron Giant encounter to pop.
Adventurous Wayfarer Traveled to all the map locations.
Zombie Borghen This guy is still kind of a joke, easy defeated.
Tiamat A classic boss in most Final Fantasy games. Was a little strong but not compared to Flare.
Astaroth Astaroth can be pretty scary, their attack will life steal a lot of health. Thankfully Flare blasted them in the end.
Beelzebub Gross giant bug man, very easy in the long run.
Iron Giant Seems like a cool mob, but in the end was blasted by Flare pretty easy.

Lost but soon found
  • Found the last chest in the game, which gave an Acid Phial. Doesn't seem that useful compared to all the other chests in Pandaemonium.
  • There is some trickery on how to progress though here. Got lost for a bit finding the next location.
Legendary Treasure Hunter Collected treasure from 100% of the chests.
5
Undead Emperor
  • Finally we make it to the Undead Emperor, were we must smite him and bring peace to the world.
  • It would be a hard boss, but I had a well balanced team and beat him first try.
Field Research - Professional Completed 100% of the Bestiary entries.
War's End
Emperor Calling him the Undead Emperor seems better. A pretty tanky boss, had to play all the roles correctly to win.

The Aftermath
  • After we defeat the Emperor again, we get a bunch of cut scenes, one of which Leon, leaves his friends and sister.
  • Overall order is restored in the world for now and all the monsters vanish. Looks like a job well done.
  • The End. (Looks the same as the The End from Final Fantasy I, must be part of the Pixel Remastered design)
In the end they didn't leave everything perfect, which shows more of that realistic human side.
Master of II Earned all achievements.
